Wakefield Parks & Recreation Cancellation Policy

Program Cancellations by the Recreation Department
Wakefield Parks & Recreation reserves the right to cancel any program, event, or activity due to insufficient registration or any other circumstances that prevent us from providing a quality experience. In the event of a cancellation by the department, participants will receive a full refund or credit.
Participant Cancellations & Refunds
  • Full refunds or credits may be granted prior to the start date of a class or program.
  • No refunds, credits, or transfers will be issued after the first day of the class or program.
  • If you are registered for a program where you pay the instructor directly and do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance, you will still be required to pay the instructor’s fee.
How to Keep a Good Program Alive – Register Early!
Nothing causes a program to be canceled faster than waiting until the last minute to register. Many of our programs require advance planning, including facility reservations, staff scheduling, volunteer coordination, and supply purchases. If you’re interested in a program, register early to help ensure it runs as planned!
